Over the past month, the Lviv Oblast Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine has processed and completed 17 medical evacuation tasks for patients to receive treatment abroad.
In particular, 60 patients (including 36 servicemen) and 35 accompanying persons were evacuated for treatment abroad; 32 tasks for repatriation of patients who had undergone treatment abroad were processed; 38 patients and 15 accompanying persons were repatriated.
“The Lviv Regional Center for Emergencies and Medical Care is the only one in the country that carries out medical evacuation of our civilians and military to European clinics. Medical evacuations abroad are co-financed by the European Commission, in cooperation with the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. We thank everyone who helps and supports Ukraine! We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for keeping the medical rear,” said Andriy Vasko, the Center’s CEO.
For more than 2 years, the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine has been transporting patients admitted to European clinics by special medical buses.
