On 1 July in Lviv region a deterioration in weather conditions is expected. According to the Lviv Regional Centre, thunderstorms are forecast, and during the day localised squalls with wind speeds of 15–20 m/s and hail with a diameter of 6–19 mm are possible.
Residents of the region are asked to follow safety rules during severe weather in order to reduce risks to life and health.
Rescuers recommend:
- avoiding being in open areas, near bodies of water, tall trees and power lines;
- not sheltering under isolated trees during a thunderstorm;
- where possible, parking cars away from trees and advertising structures;
- monitoring the condition of electrical wiring and, where possible, unplugging electrical appliances;
- being especially careful when driving, as poor visibility and slippery roads are possible;
- not leaving children unattended outdoors.
In the event of an emergency, call 101.
