Almost 8,000 doses of influenza vaccine were delivered to Lviv region for vaccination of persons from risk groups

The Ministry of Health distributed 193,000 doses of the flu vaccine received as part of humanitarian aid to the regions.

Lviv Oblast received 1,900 doses of the GSiFlu flu vaccine (Korea) as part of humanitarian aid for the vaccination of doctors. In addition, another 6,000 doses of the vaccine “Vaxigrip Tetra” (France) were received for free vaccination of persons from risk groups, in particular, doctors.

As Deputy Minister of Health – Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin noted, influenza vaccination is not included in the National Calendar, and therefore is not free. However, the state does everything possible to ensure that persons from risk groups have this opportunity. Almost 56,000 doses were distributed to the security sector, in particular, to the military. In addition, almost 150,000 flu vaccines should enter the commercial market this year, some of which are already in the pharmacy network and available to citizens.

In the Lviv region, you can buy the “GSiFlu” vaccine in pharmacies.

And although the optimal time to administer the flu vaccine is September-October, vaccination is recommended throughout the entire epidemic season. Immunity to the flu develops after 7-14 days.

We will remind you that from November 7 to 10, 132 cases of influenza A were recorded in the Lviv region.
