A meeting of the Regional Coordination Council on Public Health was held at the Lviv Regional Military Administration, focusing on three key areas: prevention of oncological diseases, control over the use of antimicrobial medicines, and the safety of food and the conditions for children in educational institutions across Lviv region.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Chair of the Coordination Council Khrystyna Zamula. Participants reviewed progress in implementing the regional plan to control cancer, in particular measures for the early detection of cancer, and discussed how to strengthen public awareness of the need for preventive check-ups.
A separate section of the council meeting was devoted to tackling antimicrobial resistance. The discussion covered more responsible use of antibiotics in medical facilities, compliance with treatment protocols and informing the public about the risks of self-medication.
The third topic was creating a safe environment in schools: monitoring the quality and safety of food, sanitary conditions, as well as measures aimed at protecting children's health during the learning process.

That is why today we focused on concrete decisions that are meant to stay ahead of the curve: early detection of oncological diseases, responsible use of antibiotics and the safety of children in the educational environment. The Lviv Regional Military Administration stresses that the agreements reached at the meeting must be implemented at community level across the region in order to strengthen the real impact of the public health system on the lives of residents of Lviv region.
