Registration opens in Lviv region for the fifth “League of the Unbroken” camp for veterans

In Lviv region, registration has opened for the fifth rehabilitation and sports camp for war veterans and service personnel, “League of the Unbroken”. Participants will have 10 days of intensive physical recovery, adaptive sports sessions and team support.

The camp programme includes training in five adaptive disciplines: cycling, swimming, archery, table tennis, crossfit, as well as other forms of physical activity. The organisers promise an individual approach, physical support and psychological assistance so that every participant feels they are in a safe and motivating environment.

Twenty veterans and service personnel who sustained wounds or injuries as a result of service and are ready to complete a 10-day programme under the guidance of experienced coaches and adaptive sports instructors are invited to take part.

“League of the Unbroken” is much more than a sports camp. It is a space where veterans and service personnel can recover through movement, test their own strength, discover new opportunities and, most importantly, feel the support of their comrades. Sport helps restore self-confidence, while the team atmosphere adds a sense of unity and purpose among like-minded people. This is exactly the kind of community we strive to build – strong, active and ready to move forward,” notes Roman Khimyak, Director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

The camp will take place in the “heart of the Carpathians” – at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Centre of the National Committee of Sports of the Disabled of Ukraine in the village of Yavoriv of the Borynia territorial community. The organisers emphasise that this is one of the best sports facilities in Europe, combining natural conditions with opportunities for high-quality rehabilitation.

Participants are scheduled to arrive between 1 and 10 October 2026. The project is aimed at helping veterans not only regain physical fitness, but also “regain themselves” through sport and community support.

The number of places is limited, so registration is mandatory and is carried out online using the form provided by the organisers. The costs of organising the camp are covered by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

To take part, you must have:

  • a medical certificate confirming fitness to participate in the camp with permission to use the swimming pool (or undergo a paid medical examination at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Centre);
  • a war veteran’s ID (UBD, e-veteran ID in the “Diia” app, or a disability due to war ID).

Organised transfers are available by prior arrangement: on 1 October at 9:00 from the Main Railway Station in Lviv to the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Centre, and on 10 October at 14:30 for the return journey. Participants may also travel independently if they wish.

The selection and formation of the group are carried out by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration together with the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Centre of the National Committee of Sports of the Disabled of Ukraine. Participation will be confirmed by a phone call from the organisers and adding the participant to a WhatsApp group by 22 September 2026.

Among the contact persons for organisational queries are Olha Vedernikova and Marta Okhota.
