100 volunteers registered for the training and are ready to go to schools and tell students how to maintain their health. The summer school will last until the middle of August.
The essence of the project is that medical students in the format of lectures tell schoolchildren about the basics of a healthy lifestyle, the prevention of the most common diseases and the importance of taking care of one’s health.
Before lectures, students are trained by project experts (doctors, teachers, etc.). The first meeting within the framework of the summer school took place with the head of the project Halyna Bordun.
Each of the participants has the opportunity to join one or more thematic blocks: healthy nutrition, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, mental health, puberty, injuries and pre-medical care. After completing the summer school, the participants will hold lectures for schoolchildren of the Lviv region.
Every year, among the participants there are more and more teachers and doctors with practical experience. In total, the “Listen to the Doctor” project reached more than 11,000 children in 1.5 years of operation. During this period, about 150 volunteer students held more than 300 lectures on the topic of health in educational institutions of the region. Among those that were the most requested: cardiovascular disease, pre-medical care, injuries, puberty, mental health, vaccinations, healthy eating.
