German benefactors support Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Lviv region

A German publication has run a feature on the humanitarian mission of the organisation Prolisok-Waldeck e. V. to the Lviv region and its support for the municipal non-profit enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council, the Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre.

The article tells the story of the visit by representatives of the organisation Jens Nazemann and Jasmin Schlechter, who personally visited the facility in July. The volunteers had already come here in the spring, when they brought the children treats and toys. During their latest visit, the benefactors provided 1,000 euros to cover the centre’s most urgent needs.

Together with the staff of the facility, they went to a shopping centre and bought a fridge, microwave ovens, electric kettles, children’s care and hygiene products, as well as other essential household items to improve the children’s comfort and ensure the institution’s day-to-day operations.

The German journalists paid particular attention to how the centre operates in wartime conditions. The piece describes the basement windows reinforced with sandbags, where the children stay during air-raid alerts, as well as measures taken to adapt to possible power cuts. For the foreign visitors this is an extraordinary experience, whereas for the centre’s team it is the daily reality in which they look after the safety and comfort of the children in their care.

«Such support gives us the strength to carry on and the reassurance that the children are not left to face their difficulties alone,» the Centre says.
