In Lviv, five children from Nursery No. 183, located on Khutorivka Street, have been hospitalised with signs of acute intestinal infection. The affected children are from different groups: one from the nursery class, two from the middle class, and two from the senior class. All of them attended the nursery on Friday.
Currently, the children are under medical supervision, and the reasons for their deteriorating condition are being investigated. Other children are attending sessions and are feeling well. All sanitary and hygiene standards are being adhered to, and additional disinfection has been carried out.
According to preliminary data, a possible cause is a rotavirus infection, but definitive conclusions will only be made after laboratory confirmation. Examinations are ongoing, with swabs from dishes, surfaces, and staff being sent for analysis. Results are expected within the week.
The nursery has 283 children enrolled, and no other cases of illness have been detected at this time.
