Polish citizen Patrycja travelled over 500 km from Warsaw to Lviv to undergo treatment at the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Centre. In the Department of Gynaecology and Foetal Medicine she underwent laparoscopic surgery with preservation of both ovaries.
Patrycja had already turned to this medical facility earlier, when Lviv doctors removed a large ovarian mass. Following that treatment, she was able to give birth to twins — a boy and a girl, who are now 10 years old.
During a recent examination in Poland, the patient was again found to have problems — teratomas in both ovaries. After this she decided to contact the specialists of the Lviv Perinatal Centre once more.
Following additional tests, doctors performed a bilateral cystectomy for Patrycja: they laparoscopically removed dermoid cysts from both sides while preserving the ovaries. Thanks to the minimally invasive approach, they managed to reduce tissue trauma and shorten the recovery period. As early as the second day after the operation, the patient was able to return home to Warsaw.
