A formal graduation ceremony has taken place at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. Diplomas were awarded to 563 young professionals — future doctors, pharmacists and prosthetist-orthotists.
During the event, Acting Chair of the Lviv Regional Council, Yurii Kholod, addressed the graduates, reminding them that they had pursued their studies in the context of full-scale war, combining their education with volunteer work.
“You made this choice at a very difficult time — when the country is at war. You studied, volunteered and gained knowledge here, at home, so that tomorrow you can treat, support and rebuild Ukraine. People’s health and lives will depend on your decisions,” said Yurii Kholod
This year the university has trained 511 doctors, 45 pharmacists and 7 prosthetist-orthotists. Among the graduates are 36 foreign nationals.
In the speciality “Medicine”, 373 students completed their studies; in “Dentistry” — 115; and in “Paediatrics” — 23 graduates.
During the ceremony, the young medics took the Hippocratic Oath and thanked their lecturers and mentors for their support and assistance in their professional development.
