In Ternopil last week, the Ukrainian chess championship among boys and girls in the age category under 12 years was held. The best were determined in classic, rapid and lightning chess.
Yana Marusyn became the champion of Ukraine in classical chess. She also won bronze medals in rapid and blitz chess. The athlete trains at the “Debut” children’s and youth sports school under the leadership of Volodymyr Grabinsky.
Solomiya Svitenko became the vice-champion in rapid chess and the bronze medalist in classical chess. She trains at the “Debut” Junior High School and the E2-E4 sports club. Her mentors are Volodymyr Grabinskyi and Andrii Grekh.
Two gold awards were won by Sofia Velichko – she became the champion in rapid and lightning chess in her age category. The girl also trains at the Debut Junior High School. Volodymyr Grabinskii is engaged with the athlete.
Anastasiya Telyuk, a pupil of the Horodotsk Junior High School, became the vice-champion in lightning chess. The athlete is trained by Volodymyr Meleshko.
Vitaly Hychkevych became the champion of Ukraine in rapid chess. Ihor Noshchenko and Valery Hrynyov are training the sportsman of Horodotsk Youth School. And in lightning chess, Yehor Serbin, a pupil of the “Debut” Junior High School, won. He is trained by Anton Romashov.
Yuriy Masnyak won bronze in lightning chess. He is a pupil of the Debut Secondary School. The athlete is trained by Volodymyr Grabinskyi.
Note that a total of 56 boys and 20 girls competed for awards at the championship.
