In the palliative care unit of the KNP ‘Drohobych City Hospital No. 1’, seven rooms were renovated with the help of benefactors. This was reported by drohobych-rada.gov.ua. The medical facility improved conditions for patients thanks to patrons who have supported the renovation work since the beginning of the year. On February 25, the renovated premises were inspected by the head of the community, Taras Kuchma, the head of the health department, Volodymyr Chuba, the general director of the hospital, Andriy Kotsyuba, and the benefactors.
The palliative care unit, relocated at the end of 2025, required quality repairs. Thanks to the initiative of Taras Kuchma and the support of benefactors, it was possible to quickly renovate 7 out of 12 rooms, designed for 25 beds. Each room underwent repair work and was equipped with necessary equipment, including multifunctional beds and visitor rest areas.
The head of the community emphasized the importance of supporting elderly residents who spend their last days in the unit. Gratitude was expressed to the benefactors, and nameplates were installed on the doors of the renovated rooms. Among those who contributed to the renovation were the head of the KP ‘Drohobych Market’ Vasyl Ananevych, the head of the KP ‘Manager ZHEO’ Oleh Maidaniuk, the head of the KP ‘SMU’ Volodymyr Suda, and the faction of the political party ‘Union Samopomich’.
Andriy Kotsyuba called on the community for further changes and updates in the unit. The palliative care unit provides support to patients with incurable diseases, including pain relief and psychosocial support.
