The Lviv Health Department is working on the creation of mental health centers at polyclinics. Now, during the war, this is especially relevant for residents, because timely and appropriate support from specialists will help overcome crisis situations and improve mental health.
“Lviv has a general concept of mental health development until 2030. We understand the importance of our patient’s mental health. We are at war, people are suffering from the effects of air raids, and our soldiers are on the front lines. War is stress, pain and loss. According to statistics, every third person in Ukraine suffers from a mental health disorder. The patient may not even recognize that he has such a disorder, and the family doctor may recognize it and refer him to the Mental Health Center. We plan to open such centers in every polyclinic in the city,” says Lesya Kobetska, head of the health care department of the Lviv City Council.
Two such mental health centers are already operating in Lviv. The first one was opened last year in the advisory polyclinic of the city children’s hospital (Hospital of St. Nicholas), located on the street. Eagle Now such a center has started working in the 5th city hospital, located on the street. St. Chuprinka
By the way, in such centers specialists carry out professional diagnosis of mental state, holistic analysis of each clinical situation, selection of the best method of treatment, consultations of related specialists, individual and group psychotherapy, cooperation with social services and public organizations, group meetings for different categories of the population, etc.
