The Clinical Center of Pediatric Medicine has renovated the main hospital building’s hall at OHMATDYT and unveiled the computed tomography room.
The new equipment is already operational, with nearly 500 examinations conducted. Annually, around 3,000 studies can be performed here, ensuring access to high-precision diagnostics for more children. The availability of a CT scanner in the hospital reduces the time required for diagnosing, decreases the need for patient transportation, and significantly improves treatment efficiency.
“The GE Revolution Maxima CT scanner was received from the Ministry of Health as part of a centralized supply. Its cost is 12.5 million UAH. We also prepared an appropriate room for its operation. The regional authorities helped us renovate it, allocating almost 2 million UAH from the regional budget. This is truly a revolution in diagnosis and treatment for our young patients,” stated Roman Kizyma, acting director-general of the Clinical Center of Pediatric Medicine.
The renovated main building hall at OHMATDYT was also presented to attendees, thanks to the support of benefactors, including LLC ‘GALYTSKA ZDOBA’, Pikart Lights, Trustees’ Council, who together raised over 330,000 UAH for the restoration. The hall’s walls were plastered and painted, lamps restored, corridors decorated by artist Olena Onufriv, and a café established.
A significant spiritual symbol of the hospital is the memory of Lubomyr Husar, who was born within these walls. As part of the completed project, a memorial plaque was installed in honor of the Head and Father of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and an honorary citizen of Lviv, which was solemnly consecrated by Father Chaplain UGCC SP ‘OHMATDYT Hospital’ Volodymyr Moshchych.
“Thank you to everyone who actively supports our healthcare, as this is an investment in the future of our children and the future of Ukraine. For our part, the Lviv Regional Council is annually increasing the level of funding for the Pediatric Medicine Center. Last year, we directed nearly 142 million UAH for various needs, including repairs. This year, the amount already exceeds 183 million. I thank the management and the entire medical team of the hospital. There is still room to grow, but you are developing year after year. I wish and will do everything in my power to make the Pediatric Medicine Center the most powerful regional children’s hospital in Ukraine, a recognizable place of hope, care, and highly professional assistance,” stated Yuriy Kholod, acting chairman of the Lviv Regional Council.
It should be noted that last year, medical assistance at OHMATDYT was received by 57,000 patients, of whom 10,000 were hospitalized.
