A new barrier-free family-type delivery room has started operating at the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Centre, and a beauty salon for inpatients has also been opened. The project was implemented with charitable support from Miss princess beauty.
The new delivery room is fully adapted to the needs of women with limited mobility. It is equipped with a transformer bed with adjustable position and height, has sufficient space for manoeuvring in a wheelchair, a specialised bathroom with supports and handrails, as well as an adapted kitchen area with lowered work surfaces. The conditions allow a partner to stay next to the mother and baby from the moment of birth until discharge.
“When we allocate resources from the regional budget or engage benefactors, the key goal is decent comfort in every facility. Today, women from all over Ukraine come to give birth at the Lviv Perinatal Centre, which is direct evidence of the high level of medical services and the professionalism of the team,” emphasised Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Khrystyna Zamula.
In addition, the perinatal centre has opened its own beauty salon which, according to the institution, has become the first such service in a medical facility in Ukraine. Patients will be able to use the services directly at the centre, in particular to have their make-up or hairstyle done before a ceremonial discharge home.
The Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Centre, which has been operating since 2020, remains one of the country’s leading obstetric and gynaecological care facilities. Since it opened, more than 33 thousand children have been born here, and in the first 9 months of 2026 doctors have delivered 3346 babies.
