At the Lviv Perinatal Centre, a woman with a rare syndrome gives birth to a healthy baby boy

At the municipal non-profit enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Centre”, doctors have successfully delivered a baby for a patient with a rare genetic disorder — Turner-Shereshevsky syndrome. This condition is associated with the complete or partial absence of one of the X chromosomes and requires special medical supervision.

A multidisciplinary team of specialists was involved in the delivery, which made it possible to prevent potential complications. The woman carried the pregnancy successfully and gave birth naturally at 38 weeks.

The newborn boy was born weighing 2,740 grams and measuring 51 centimetres in length. The institution notes that the baby was born healthy.

“The team of the Lviv Perinatal Centre is ready every day to provide assistance in the most complex cases for the main goal: preserving the life and health of mother and child under any circumstances,” they note at the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Centre.
