From June 3 to 7, Lviv is holding its annual public health campaign “Health Week,” offering free medical screenings and consultations at 31 locations across the city. These include parks, squares, shopping centers, markets, and other high-traffic areas.
The program provides both basic and advanced health services, educational sessions, and social activities for children and adults — all aimed at promoting early diagnosis and preventive care.
🔹 Spontaneous tests save lives:
Mayor Andriy Sadovyi highlighted that the city has been organizing Health Weeks since 2007. “Last year, about 10,000 people received unexpected screenings. In 40% of them, we found issues. Today, within just one hour, doctors identified arrhythmia in three out of seven ECGs,” he shared.
🔹 Community response:
Zoriana, a local mother, took advantage of the opportunity for herself and her daughter. “My daughter had a rash, and I got a quick health check. These campaigns are important for early detection, especially for kids and the elderly,” she said.
Oleh, another resident, had consultations with a dermatologist, an ophthalmologist, and a general practitioner. “Quick and efficient — I fully support this idea,” he commented.
