Children’s mental health centre in Lviv to open by the end of the year

A modern children’s mental health centre is expected to open in Lviv by the end of the year. To establish it, a tripartite agreement has been signed between the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the charity organisation Caritas Czech Republic and the Clinical Centre for Paediatric Medicine.

The new centre will be set up on the basis of the Clinic for the Mental Health of Children, Adolescents and Young People of the Clinical Centre for Paediatric Medicine on Dnisterska Street in Lviv.

According to the head of Lviv Region, Maksym Kozytskyi, the facility will employ child psychiatrists, psychologists and a speech and language therapist. It will include rooms for group sessions, a day unit, sensory rooms and other spaces for the work of a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

The Lviv Regional Military Administration notes that the creation of the centre will be an important element in developing a psychosocial support network in the region and will help children and young people adapt to contemporary challenges, particularly those linked to the consequences of the full-scale war.
