The St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv will provide cochlear implantation for children with congenital and acquired hearing impairments by leading specialists from Austria and Egypt.
It is necessary to make an appointment for a consultation on the installation of such an implant.
Dr Saad ElDesouky Helmy ElZayat, Professor of Otolaryngology at Kafer El-Sheikh University (Egypt), and radiologist and Senior Executive Manager for Education Mohamed Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim El Disouky (Austria) will work side by side with Ukrainian doctors in Lviv from 9 to 14 December. Together, they will hold consultations and install cochlear implants made by the world-famous MED-EL Medical Electronics company.
Implantation is performed for children from birth to 18 years of age with congenital and acquired hearing loss. As well as with abnormalities in the development of the outer, middle, and inner ears that lead to hearing loss or complete hearing loss.
Prior to implantation, doctors perform all the necessary diagnostics and examination of the child’s hearing function. Specialists select cochlear and bone implants individually for each patient.
