Maxillofacial surgeons of the Lviv Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital Okhmatdyt together with doctors from the USA performed 4 highly complex reconstructive surgical interventions using the latest techniques
A team of professionals – doctors from the USA (LEAP Global Mission) – maxillofacial and plastic surgeon Steven Orten and Craig Khobar, who specializes in congenital facial defects in children, LNMU professor Roman Ogonovskyi, maxillofacial surgeon Khrystyna Pogranichna, ENTs from Lviv Okhmatdyt – Roman Novosilskyi, orthodontists of LNMU named after Danyla Halytskyi – prof. Nataliya Chukhrai, Assoc. Andrii Miskiv started a new life:
🩺seven-year-old Eva with a congenital defect of the external nose – open rhinoseptoplasty with costal cartilage autotransplantation
🩺eleven-year-old Mykhailik with congenital bilateral non-union of the upper lip and palate, persistent rhinolalia (speech disorder), secondary fistulas of the palate – lengthening of the soft palate with the help of a pharyngeal flap and closure of secondary fistulas on the palate
🩺three-year-old Veronichka with congenital bilateral non-union of the lip and palate – secondary cheiloplasty and velostaphyloplasty were performed
🩺10-month-old Anna with congenital non-union of the upper lip and palate – velostaphyloplasty.
Patients came to us from Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
All operations were successful, the children feel well, and the parents are happy.
