Two prematurely born infants with severe complications were saved at the Clinical Center of Pediatric Medicine.
The medical team at the Clinical Center of Pediatric Medicine, ‘Okhmatdyt’ Hospital, successfully nurtured a set of twins who were born at 34 weeks of pregnancy in one of the maternity hospitals in Lviv. The baby girl weighed 2 kg, while the baby boy was only 1.5 kg. Due to the critical condition of the newborns, the neonatal team urgently transported them to intensive care.
‘The doctors struggled with severe complications – sepsis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, as well as necrotizing enterocolitis in the boy. Thanks to the coordinated work of the specialists, the children overcame the critical period and successfully recovered’, noted the hospital.
Today, at 10 months old, the infants – Solomiika and Vladyslav are developing well and catching up with their peers. After returning to the doctors due to respiratory infections, the medical team quickly provided the necessary assistance.
