In Lviv, a brother and sister from Dnipropetrovsk region, who were seriously injured during the shelling of the Russians, are being treated

They were wounded on Independence Day during the shelling of a railway station near the village of Chapline in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The brother and sister barely managed to get out from under the ruins of the destroyed house, which was hit by a Russian rocket.

The mother died on the spot, doctors at the local hospital are fighting for the father’s life. The children were seriously injured.

15-year-old Oleg was “born in a shirt”, doctors say. A fragment of the projectile was stuck a few millimeters from the internal organs. A little more – and he could damage the liver and intestines. He has multiple open wounds to the abdomen, lower back, pelvis, neck, head and shoulder, lacerations and bruises, and a through wound to the right shoulder. And also – concussion, damage to the auditory (Eustachian) tube.

13-year-old Bohdanka has multiple injuries to her lower limbs, injuries to her leg and ear, superficial injuries to parts of her head, and numerous lacerations. Injuries of medium severity.

They were taken by an evacuation train to the St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv. Here, children underwent surgical treatment of wounds. A long rehabilitation awaits Oleg. A psychologist works with children.

In Lviv, the children were met by their aunt. Relatives will take care of Olezhyk and Bohdanka until their father recovers. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, he has already undergone five operations. He is in intensive care in a serious condition.

We remind you that medical evacuations take place thanks to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the organization “Doctors without Borders”/Médecins Sans Frontières.

Lviv continues to receive patients from various regions of Ukraine who suffered as a result of hostilities, and is making every effort to create the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center to save Ukrainians in their native country.
