Professor from Turkey Dr. Hakan Ağır came to Ukraine to conduct a complex operation on a young patient.
11-year-old Tetiana from Dnipropetrovsk region received help from the multidisciplinary team of the Children’s Medicine Center. She was diagnosed with a tumor of the lower jaw, and the operation was conducted together with pediatric and plastic surgeon Orest Leshnevskyi. They removed the affected part of the bone and performed a jaw reconstruction using metal osteosynthesis.
Tetiana has been in the Center since July, and this is her second battle with oncology. *“We came to Lviv intending to go abroad, but there was no time to delay,”* her mother said.
The operation was just one stage of the treatment. Tetiana still has several blocks of chemotherapy and further plastic surgeries ahead. The girl and her mother are very glad that among those helping her fight for health is Professor Hakan Ağır.
Orest Leshnevskyi thanked the professor for his constant support and cooperation. This year, Hakan Ağır is visiting the Center for the sixth time and is performing free surgeries on children. Each visit by Mr. Hakan is a chance for recovery for another child.
