Victoria from Lviv, aged 10, was diagnosed with a complex condition, osteosarcoma of the femur, this summer. The surgery performed on Victoria was extraordinary. This is reported by Facebook. The girl’s femur, knee, and hip joints were completely replaced with a prosthesis. Such a ‘mega prosthesis’ was custom-made based on the girl’s X-rays. This special construction does not require replacement as it will ‘grow’ with the patient.
At the children’s medical center, Vika is receiving comprehensive specialized treatment: a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and rehabilitation specialists is taking care of the girl. Vika and her family sincerely thank all the specialists for their help!
