Lviv is preparing to launch the ‘Health Screening 40+’ program, which will provide residents the opportunity to undergo free medical examinations.
Starting in 2026, a state program in Ukraine will allow people aged 40 and over to receive a basic annual medical examination for free. Lviv is already making preparations: the city is coordinating the efforts of medical institutions and administrative service centers to ensure convenient access to the service.
‘For Lviv, prevention and early diagnosis are not new directions but a systematic city practice. The state program “Health Screening 40+” logically complements this work and will help even more residents to take timely care of their health,’
notes the head of the healthcare department Marta Matiushko.
All Ukrainians aged 40 and over can undergo screening, regardless of their place of residence or presence of chronic diseases. The program includes a physical examination, questionnaire, laboratory tests, and a doctor’s consultation.
Registration for the screening can be done through the ‘Diia’ app or by contacting the administrative service center. Residents will be able to choose a convenient day and time without waiting in line in public or private medical institutions participating in the program.
