Since the beginning of 2026, 54 lifts have already been installed in Lviv for residents with disabilities. This was reported by the Department of Housing and Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council.
Ramps and lifts are being installed in residential buildings where people who use wheelchairs live, as well as persons with group I visual impairments. The equipment is installed directly at the entrances to the stairwells to ensure barrier-free access to the buildings.
This year, lifts have already been installed at the following addresses in Lviv and Vynnyky:

According to the “Programme for Ensuring the Accessibility of Residential Premises for Persons with Disabilities Using Wheelchairs and Persons with Group I Visual Impairments” for 2026, Lviv plans to install 19 ramps, 71 lifts, replace 6 lifts and install 3 battery-powered transporters.
For comparison, in 2025, 38 lifts and 51 ramps were installed in the Lviv community. They were installed in residential buildings along barrier-free routes, as well as in educational, cultural and medical institutions.
To take part in this city programme, residents must submit an application to a CSC or to the relevant district administration. Mandatory conditions for participation are confirmed disability status and official registration in the building where the ramp or lift is planned to be installed.
After receiving an application, the district monitoring group inspects the building and checks the technical feasibility of installing accessibility elements. If it is feasible to install a ramp or lift, the address is submitted for consideration by the accessibility committee. The approved list of residential premises is included as an annex to the programme, for which an appropriate decision of the City Council session is prepared.
The contracting authorities for ramp construction works are Lviv’s district administrations. The installation of lifts and battery-powered transporters, as well as the replacement of lifts, is carried out by LKP “Lvivsvitlo”.
