A Center for People with War Injuries to Open in Lviv

Next week in Lviv, two significant events will take place: the opening of a Center for persons who have survived captivity and torture, and the international forum ‘Unbroken Justice.’

International lawyer Philippe Sands and neurosurgeon Henry Marsh will be speaking at the events. ‘The history of the terms “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” leads us back to Lviv,’ said Philippe Sands.

The St. Leo the Great Mental Health Center will become the first specialized space in Ukraine for the affected. The Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, noted that this place is about care and dignity. ‘Everyone who has returned should know: we were waiting for them,’ he emphasized.

Panel discussions to be held at the new Center will cover topics of psychological help for torture victims and accountability for crimes against humanity. The event will bring together human rights defenders, psychotherapists, and government officials.
