At the Lviv Perinatal Centre, a new direction has been introduced — fetal medicine with foetal surgery. This is the first instance in Ukraine where such a comprehensive approach has been implemented in a municipal institution. The new direction allows for the diagnosis and treatment of congenital pathologies during pregnancy, the management of high-risk pregnancies, and the performance of complex minimally invasive surgeries.
The centre already operates most stages of care, and the introduction of fetal therapy and surgery enables the formation of a complete treatment cycle according to global standards within a single facility.
“Today we are launching a new, complex direction — fetal therapy and surgery. This is an important step for the development of medicine and the support of our children,” stated Maria Malachynska.
The opening of this direction was made possible through the joint efforts of regional authorities, medical professionals, and benefactors. Yuriy Kholod emphasised that this is an investment in a healthy generation and the future of the country. In the future, the centre will provide such assistance to patients from all over Ukraine.
