A private multi-purpose facility has opened in Lviv for people who need professional care, medical support and day-to-day assistance. This is the St Sophia Care Centre, which combines palliative care, rehabilitation services and supported living for older people and persons with disabilities.
The centre offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, a rehabilitation hall, medical beds and a staff call system. It has its own team of doctors and qualified staff, and the space is fully barrier-free and adapted for people with disabilities.
At present, two of the building’s four floors are in use for clients. Once all the premises have been fitted out, the St Sophia Care Centre will be able to accommodate up to 150 people at a time.
The project cost is UAH 40 million. All the funds were raised through private investment. The owner of the facility is Yuliia Horodechna, who, together with her team, has created a space that brings together medical care, professional support and respect for each person’s individual story.
In the context of the full-scale war, which has changed the lives of thousands of people and increased the need for continuous care and safe accommodation, the opening of such facilities in Lviv is seen as an important step towards expanding opportunities to receive support in appropriate conditions.
