In the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center, the life of a prematurely born boy was saved.
He was born at 31 weeks of pregnancy, weighing 1300 grams, in a critical condition, with respiratory disorders, intrauterine infection, pneumonia, and damage to the central nervous system.
“From the first minutes of life, the baby required intensive therapy and assistance from a mechanical ventilator. The newborn was under constant supervision of a multidisciplinary team – neonatologists, a neurologist, and a cardiologist. After stabilization, he was transferred to the post-intensive care department for newborns and the rearing of premature infants for further treatment.
Thanks to the coordinated work of the doctors, Lukyan began to breathe on his own, eat, and actively gain weight. At the time of discharge, the boy weighed 2020 grams and on the 38th day of life, went home with his mother,” said representatives of the Lviv Regional Perinatal Center.
