On Pylypa Orlyka Street in the Zboischa district of Lviv, a new medical building is planned for construction for the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “1st Territorial Medical Association of Lviv”. It will provide facilities for temporary accommodation, rest and recuperation of oncology patients.
The issue of granting urban planning conditions and restrictions for this facility was considered at a meeting of the executive committee of Lviv City Council. The new building is intended to complement the infrastructure of the First TMO and improve comfort for patients undergoing treatment for oncological diseases.
According to the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, the building will include rooms with private bathrooms, lounges, as well as elements of medical support. The project provides for step-free access throughout the premises and the required number of parking spaces.
The building will be low-rise — up to four storeys, with 15 wards planned to accommodate patients.
In addition, Lviv is continuing to implement the project for the new UNBROKEN surgical building, which will form part of the medical ecosystem of the same name. It will serve people affected by the war and patients requiring complex surgical interventions. The architectural concept for this building was developed by the world-renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, a Pritzker Prize laureate, and the design work is being carried out by the architectural bureau ABMK.
