Signs of an acute intestinal infection have been detected among children at Lviv Nursery School No. 183, prompting inspections and sanitary measures. Despite the temporary closure of the kitchen for sanitisation, the nursery continues operations, providing children with catering services. This was reported by the Director of the Department of Education and Culture, Andriy Zakaluk.
“Today I visited the nursery, spoke with the staff and children. Two children have been laboratory-confirmed with salmonellosis. This is the first such case during my tenure at the city council,” noted Zakaluk. He also emphasised that the premises are in a hygienically clean condition, and there are currently no grounds to consider it related to the infection.
The laboratory centre has taken samples of water and products, as well as surface swabs. The kitchen in the facility will be closed for further sanitation for several days. Five children from different groups who previously attended the nursery have been hospitalised.
