Hepatitis A Outbreak in Sheptytskyi District: 24 Cases Reported

An outbreak of hepatitis A has been reported in the Sheptytskyi District. According to the local administration, cases have been identified in Volsvyn, Shainohy, Novyi Vytkiv, Dmytriv, and Lopatyn. The infection has also spread to Brody in the Zolochiv District. As of January 17, there are 24 confirmed cases in the Sheptytskyi District, half of which involve children.

Igor Grondzal, the director of the central city hospital, stated that two patients from Lopatyn with confirmed hepatitis A are currently hospitalized in the infectious disease ward. All other patients remain under medical supervision. Over the past week, no new cases have been recorded, noted Lyubov Vytvytska, deputy director for medical care at the Primary Health Care Center.

Health experts emphasize the importance of personal hygiene and proper food preparation to prevent infection. Anyone experiencing symptoms or suspecting hepatitis A should consult a doctor immediately.
