The doctor will work with children who have a congenital eyelid defect.
German plastic surgeon Klaus Eckner came to the Lviv Regional Clinical Children’s Hospital for the eleventh time. This time his visit will last 5 days. The doctor, together with his Ukrainian colleagues, will operate on children suffering from congenital ptosis of the eyelids, and will also conduct consultations.
“Children need help all the time. Especially, in such a difficult time. Such cooperation with the doctors of “Okhmatdyt” is very useful. We examine the children together. Very good doctors here,” said Klaus Exner.
“Klaus Exner performs these operations according to his method – suspending the upper eyelid to the forehead muscle. Or chooses other methods, taking into account the child’s situation. It is also a medical and collegial learning for us. This is an interesting collaboration. Then we observe and guide such children in the postoperative period,” said ophthalmologist Andriana Pater.
“It is very good that there is an opportunity to operate on the children of Ukraine with a specialist in this matter – Klaus Exner, who has performed many such interventions. Therefore, we adopt experience and various methods from him,” added the head of the ophthalmology department Natalya Gudyma.
