A new Mental Health Centre has opened at the University Hospital on the Ohiienko Campus. The facility is expanding the range of support available to patients, focusing on their psychological and emotional wellbeing.
The Centre is open to people who are experiencing anxiety or constant tension, low mood, sleep disturbances, the consequences of severe or prolonged stress, difficulties adapting to life changes, a traumatic event or the loss of a loved one, as well as other psychological or mental health challenges.
A dedicated area of work is support for those affected by the consequences of the war: service personnel, veterans, their family members, internally displaced persons and anyone with traumatic experiences.
The Centre is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. Depending on the patient’s needs, a psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist and other professionals may be involved. The Mental Health Centre provides services under the NHSU Medical Guarantees Programme.
The medical facility emphasises that it is worth seeking help not only when a problem has already developed into a serious psychiatric disorder, but also at an early stage, when it is becoming difficult to cope alone with one’s psychological or emotional state.
Consultations can be booked through the hospital’s call centre using the telephone number provided.
