The other day, the health care department of the Lviv City Council and the representative office of the Anti-AIDS-USA Foundation in Ukraine and the Anti-AIDS-Ukraine Foundation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. This includes, in particular, early detection of HIV infection in all patients, provision of high-quality pre- and post-test counseling, referral of persons with a positive test result for medical monitoring and initiation of antiretroviral therapy.
“Prevention and early diagnosis of HIV/AIDS is important for health care management. Therefore, since October, we have been introducing an affordable, free medical service for HIV/AIDS testing in our city medical facilities. HIV/AIDS is not a sentence. That’s why we are examined and consulted in order to be healthy,” emphasized Iryna Khrushch, head of the health care department of the Lviv City Council.
