The tradition of supporting young families continues in the Drohobytsk community. Thus, every week the mayor Taras Kuchma together with the head of the family and youth department Oleksandra Pashko visit the city’s maternity hospital and hand out support packages to mothers in labor.
During October, 71 babies were born in the city’s medical institution, including 35 girls and 36 boys. Out of the total number of newborns, 6 babies are internally displaced persons.
The packages given to mothers in labor contain everything necessary for newborns – clothes for babies, hygiene products, first toys, diapers and first embroidered shirts. The aid is formed jointly with the Volunteer Headquarters “Ukrainian Team”.
According to our good tradition, we try to visit the maternity hospital every week to congratulate mothers on such an important event in their lives. We are also simultaneously monitoring the situation regarding the quality of medical services and the wishes of women in the maternity hospital. In our difficult times, it is very important to take care of our future – children. Therefore, we continue to implement the city’s initiative – to support young families with useful packages and rejoice in their happiness, – commented the mayor Taras Kuchma.
Mothers who were admitted to the maternity hospital in the period between the management’s visits are given referrals for assistance in office 210 of the city hall (family and youth department). You should come there with a ticket and a birth certificate of the baby.
In addition, in Drohobych, on the initiative of the authorities, they decided to form aid packages for mothers in childbirth from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the occupier, in order to support and help families who gave birth to babies. Currently, the packages are given to both local women and IDP women.
Last year alone, more than 300 support packages were handed out.
