Charity Lunch at Sheptytskyi United the Community Before Easter
Yesterday, April 16, a charity lunch was held in Sheptytskyi, which brought together those in difficult life circumstances during the pre-Easter period. Thanks to the joint efforts of the community, clergy, and local authorities, the event became a real example of unity, care, and support. More than 150 people had the opportunity to taste festive dishes prepared by chefs and students of the Chervonohrad Vocational Mining and Construction Lyceum.
“Today, we organized this lunch not only to feed and meet physical needs but also to provide spiritual support to people. At the beginning, we prayed together and welcomed guests, and during our heartfelt program, children with special educational needs sang, recited poems, inspired with kind words, and gave everyone present a sense of unity,” said Pastor Pavlo Vasykov of the Gethsemane Church.
Event Highlights
The event started in the lyceum’s assembly hall with a minute of silence in memory of the Heroes, and a special part of the program was a play about the choice between good and evil, prepared by the NGO ‘Indomitable Athletes’, as well as archive video footage about the meaning of Easter featuring our Hero Andriy Poltavskyi, who died in 2023.
“We held a similar event during the pre-Christmas period, and it showed that such events are extremely necessary. They are especially important for our townspeople on the eve of major Christian holidays, as they provide an opportunity to feel unity and warmth. Today, I want to congratulate everyone on the upcoming Easter holidays, wish peace and tranquility, and thank God for what we have,” shared Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Koval.
