The other day, a free tour for deaf people was held at the museum of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi. It was held with the assistance of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Lviv Oblast.

“A wonderful excursion that goes back to ancient times and to the present day, with the opportunity to step on and touch the ancient stones of our ancestors and learn about the majestic figure of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi. Unforgettable impressions! A special thank you to Father Sevastyan for a wonderful story!”, Ms. Olena shared her impressions.

It should be added that the Museum of Metropolitan Sheptytskyi has become even more inclusive thanks to the USAID “Hoverla” Project. Now, multimedia equipment has appeared here to improve the reception of people with disabilities, there are tactile exhibits for blind visitors, a tactile mnemonic plan of the museum, tactile direction indicators for visually impaired visitors, combined media signs with the use of Braille and a voice description of the exhibits, audio guides.

Also, even earlier, the Lviv Association for the Development of Tourism ensured that an innovative hydraulic platform for people with disabilities was installed on the territory. She helps people in wheelchairs to get up to the church and museum on their own.

“I would like as many tourist locations as possible to become adapted for people with disabilities and other groups with reduced mobility. We are grateful to the Museum of Metropolitan Sheptytskyi for setting a good example of barrier-free accessibility, as well as for always welcoming and welcoming visitors,” said Taras Lozynskyi, head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of Lviv Regional Government.
