Border guards of Lviv region receive modern equipment to create radio interference for enemy drones

The equipment was donated by Lviv IT Cluster as part of the Guardian project.

The Lviv IT Cluster community has handed over electronic warfare equipment to the Western Region Border Guard Service to counter enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

Two portable electronic devices that will help in the fight against enemy UAVs were transferred as part of the Victory Projects initiative and the Guardian project. The Border Guard Service will subsequently send these devices to help the military destroy the enemy.

The KVERTUS AD KRAKEN E creates 360° radio jamming and has an additional directional antenna unit to enhance protection in a particular direction. The cost of the equipment is over a million hryvnias.

The Guardian project was launched in the spring of 2023. The first transfer of equipment to the border guards of Lviv region took place at the same time. The project aims to improve the level of training of border guards for professional service, as they not only guard the borders but also repel the enemy at the front.

In the summer of 2023, the Lviv UBA joined the project. Together with the IT Cluster, we donated 3 conventional Mavic-3 drones with an optical camera and 3 more with a thermal imaging camera, which are used for night reconnaissance. More information is available at https://loda.gov.ua/news/72963.
