On April 18 at 05:52, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report about a fire in Lviv on Gogol Street. The fire broke out in an apartment on the first floor of a three-story residential building.

Rescuers’ Actions and Consequences

Upon the arrival of the emergency responders at the scene, thick black smoke was pouring out of the apartment windows where the fire started. Due to the heavy smoke, the firefighters had to work in special respiratory and vision protection equipment.

By 06:11, the firefighters had localized the fire, and by 06:32, they had extinguished the fire affecting household items in the apartment over an area of 10 sq.m.

As a result of the fire, the apartment owner, a man born in 1960, suffered first-degree burns to his left arm and back and was hospitalized at the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital with a diagnosis of smoke inhalation.

8 rescuers and 2 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
