Lviv will continue cooperation with the Sovereign Order of Malta

For many years, Lviv has been closely cooperating with the Sovereign Military Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta. The city has felt special support since the beginning of the war, because back in September of last year, the Order provided a prosthetics workshop for the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center. Today, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Order is in Lviv on a working visit. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy thanked Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone for his help and support.

“The Order of Malta was one of the first to help Ukrainians fleeing the war, working at checkpoints and shelters. This is very valuable to us.

The future belongs to those who have strength and courage. You, and many other good friends and partners of ours, help us to keep our courage and build up our strength, despite the circumstances,” emphasized Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.

The mayor of Lviv presented to Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone the plan for the development of the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center, in particular the results of the prosthetics workshop.

“Our cooperation with you in the field of medicine and rehabilitation will continue. We are always ready to be there and help,” said the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta in Ukraine.

For reference.

The Sovereign Military Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta, better known as the Sovereign Order of Malta, is one of the oldest Catholic religious-chivalric orders and a sovereign subject of international law.

Diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Sovereign Order of Malta were established in 2008, and the Order’s branches have been operating in our country since the early 1990s. The annual budget for the implementation of humanitarian and charitable projects of the Order and its structures in Ukraine is about 800,000 euros. The vast majority of projects are implemented in the social sphere, in particular, assistance is provided to internally displaced persons and participants of the Joint Forces Operation, as well as to orphans and disabled children.
