Lyubomyr Rak Becomes General Director of the Pulmonary Health Center
Today, April 15, the commission for the competition to fill the position of General Director of the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise ‘Lviv Regional Phthisiopulmonology Clinical Treatment and Diagnostic Center’ conducted its final session, during which it listened to the competition proposals from the candidates for the position.
Two candidates were admitted to participate in the competition – the acting head of the Pulmonary Health Center, Lyubomyr Rak, and the former head of the Phthisiopulmonology Commission No. 2 of the regional center for medical and social expertise, Halyna Stariček.
Based on the results of the competition, interviews, discussions, and corresponding evaluations, the commission recognized Lyubomyr Rak as the winner of the competition. His candidacy will be recommended to the session of the Lviv Regional Council for approval as General Director with a contract for 5 years.
“The main thing I expect from the head of the Pulmonary Health Center is quality services for patients. I wish success in achieving all the goals declared today.
Remember, the competition for the head of the regional Pulmonary Health Center has been ongoing since late March and was the second in Ukraine to be conducted under the new rules from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. These rules foresee the participation of more representatives from relevant NGOs as well as representatives of the ministry itself,” noted Yuriy Kholod, acting head of the Lviv Regional Council.
Development of the Pulmonary Health Center
“We are the main comprehensive institution in the region engaged in the treatment of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. But we are also developing other areas such as pulmonology, thoracic surgery, general surgery, outpatient treatment, and rehabilitation.
Last year, with funds from the regional budget and our own, we carried out major repairs of two operating rooms. With the help of donor funds, we are completing a project to install equipment in the reprocessing department, which will help ensure full infection control in the hospital,” stated Lyubomyr Rak.
Competitions for Position Replacement
In the last three years, the management of communal enterprises has conducted seven competitions to fill the positions of heads of regional medical institutions, with contracts extended for managers in two institutions. Overall, since 2022, 58 open competitions have been held in various fields: education, social protection, culture, medicine, etc.
