He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade and spent two years participating in some of the most intense battles on the front line.

On July 23, 2024, during a combat mission, the soldier was captured by Russian forces.

Their faith did not fade, and today their hope has finally come true as Ruslan has returned to his homeland.

Vasyl Rybak was captured on Christmas Day

The second released serviceman is Vasyl Stepanovych Rybak, born on January 15, 1976.

He was mobilized for military service on August 19, 2023. Just a few months later, on December 25, 2023, on Christmas Day, he was captured by Russian forces.

Throughout this difficult period, his relatives were waiting for his return, including:

  • his mother Hanna Vasylivna
  • his sister Mariia
  • his daughters Diana and Khrystyna

Their hope and persistence helped them endure the long months of uncertainty until the good news finally arrived.
