Defender Andrii Burko from Sheptytskyi killed in Donetsk region

The Sheptytskyi community has received tragic confirmation of the death of its native resident, Andrii Bohdanovych Burko, born in 1976. For a year and a half, the serviceman had been considered missing in action. However, it recently became known that the sergeant, an operator in the anti-tank guided missile unit of military unit A4447, was killed on October 31, 2024, near the village of Maksymilianivka in the Donetsk region.

Andrii Burko was born and raised in Sheptytskyi. He studied at School No. 12 and later graduated from the Chervonohrad Mining Technical College. He devoted many years of his life to the mining industry, working as a foreman at the Vidrodzhennia mine.

After retiring in 2022, he could have stayed away from the front line, but in 2024 he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland.
