The Sokal region is mourning the death of Andrii Ivanovych Blashchuk, a resident of the village of Zavyshen and a defender of Ukraine who joined the country’s defense in the first days of the full-scale war.
Andrii Blashchuk was born on January 25, 1975, in the village of Zavyshen to Ivan and Yevheniia Blashchuk. He spent his childhood and youth in his native Sokal region.
Andrii studied at Zhvyrka Secondary School. After completing eleven grades, he continued his education at the Chervonohrad Mining Technical School. He later worked at the Velykomostivska mine, where he was employed as an underground foreman.
He Volunteered for the Armed Forces at the Beginning of the Full-Scale War
When Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine, Andrii Blashchuk did not remain on the sidelines. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He served with the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade as a rifleman and driver.
During his military service, Andrii:
- served on the front line;
- carried out missions, including in Bakhmut and Borodianka;
- served as a rifleman and driver;
- evacuated people from some of the most difficult and dangerous areas, risking his own life to save others.
The war had serious consequences for his health. During his service, Andrii Blashchuk suffered a shrapnel wound and concussions.
After leaving military service, he returned to civilian life and work. Until his final days, Andrii worked as a driver for Autoline LLC.
Family and Friends Will Preserve the Memory of Andrii Blashchuk
Those who knew Andrii Ivanovych will remember him as a courageous defender of Ukraine, a responsible worker, and a man who did not stand aside during the country’s most difficult period but did what was required of him.
The memory of Andrii Blashchuk will remain in the hearts of his relatives, children, friends, fellow soldiers, and everyone who knew him as a kind and courageous man.
