The Yavoriv community is deeply saddened to announce the loss of another modern Hero. Volodymyr Khlyan, our compatriot, returns home “on his shield”. He was born on 5 October 1990 in Yavoriv, where he completed his education at Secondary School No. 2. Later, he studied at the Novovorivsk Vocational School, qualifying as a car mechanic.
Volodymyr worked in a furniture workshop, engaged in the repair and manufacture of furniture. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and mushroom picking. He was a sincere, kind, and cheerful person, always ready to help others. He built his own house, in which, unfortunately, he never got to live.
In September 2024, Volodymyr was mobilised into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 225th Separate Assault Battalion and participated in combat operations on the Kursk front. On 30 December 2024, the family received the dreadful news of his disappearance.
After a long year of waiting and hope, today the Hero returns home “on his shield”. In deep mourning remain: mother Lyubov, wife Maria, daughter Marta, brother Bohdan with his family, sisters Vira and Nadiya with their families, relatives, close friends, and acquaintances. The time of the meeting and the funeral service will be announced additionally. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the fallen Defender.
