Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to three defenders of Ukraine

On Wednesday, February 28, Lviv will say goodbye to three soldiers. Andriy Tyshevsky, Mykhailo Pankiv, and Vitaliy Kyrylenko defended Ukraine from Russian invaders. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a city farewell ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Rynok Square.

Andriy Tyshevsky and Mykhailo Pankiv will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery, and Vitaliy Kyrylenko will be buried at the Holoskiv Cemetery.

Biographical information on the defenders

 

Vitaliy Kyrylenko (18.01.2000-23.02.2024). Vitalii Kyrylenko was born in Lviv in the family of a serviceman.

He studied at the secondary school № 42 in Lviv. He graduated from the Military College of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy with a degree in Civilian Security.

After graduation, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the 704th separate regiment of radiation, chemical, and biological defense, and during the last period – in the 1st Galician-Volyn radio engineering brigade of the Air Command “West” of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In his spare time, he was fond of football and reading literature. According to his family, he was “extremely kind and trusting”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state on the eastern front.

Vitaliy Kyrylenko is survived by his parents, brother, two sisters and girlfriend.

 

Andrii Tyshevskyi (29.01.1980-21.02.2024). A resident of Lviv.

He studied at Lyceum No. 81 named after Petro Sahaidachnyi of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Stavropigian Higher Vocational School of Lviv” (then Vocational School No. 17). After graduation, he served in the military in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions.

Since 2007, he lived in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He was engaged in carpentry, in his spare time he was fond of singing, playing guitar, fishing and carving.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invaders. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state as a member of the 3rd Operational Brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan of the Eastern Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine. He performed combat missions on the southern and eastern directions.

Andriy Tyshevskyi is survived by his wife, two children, an older sister and nieces.

 

Mykhailo Pankiv (27.06.1972-21.02.2024). A resident of Lviv.

He studied at the Iryna Kalynets Secondary School #87 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the Secondary Vocational School No. 1 of Lviv (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Professional Lyceum of Railway Transport”).

He served in the military, first in the Chernivtsi region, and later in the Dnipro region in the ranks of the communications troops.

He worked in the field of property protection services and in the construction industry. In his spare time, he was fond of playing the guitar and used to wrestle. According to his family, Mykhailo Pankiv was “an extremely kind, sensitive, courageous and responsible person.”

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Pikus, of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to defend his homeland from the invaders. After completing the training, he defended the southern and eastern borders of the state.

Mykhailo Pankiv is survived by his mother, three sisters, nephews and goddaughter.
