Bolt and Uklon have been allowed to operate in Lviv during the curfew, and their drivers will have the appropriate permits

By the end of this week, residents and guests of Lviv will be able to use Bolt and Uklon to call a car during the curfew from 00:00 to 05:00.

The operation of both apps in a pilot format was agreed with the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Lviv City Council with the support of the Lviv IT Cluster.

Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv City Council, emphasises the importance of taxi operation during the curfew. According to him, on average, 20 to 30 trains stop in Lviv during the curfew (from 00:00 to 05:00). Due to various unforeseen circumstances, Lviv residents also need to move around the city at night.

“Many trains or buses arrive at the station at night, and people, often with small children, need to get to hostels, hospitals or other locations in Lviv somehow. And when you can’t legally take a taxi to the curfew, this service is provided illegally and the trip costs 3-4 times more. That is why I am glad to see this decision that together with our partners we are restoring the service for the community and guests of the city so that people can use legal, safe services at an affordable price whenever they need it,” added Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv City Council.

Thus, until the end of this week, residents and visitors of Lviv will be able to call a car through Bolt and Uklon services during the curfew from 00:00 to 05:00 in Lviv and Lviv region.

“A pass is required to stay on the streets of Lviv during the curfew. These passes are provided by the commandant’s office that operates in the Lviv region. First and foremost, drivers must have them, and he is personally responsible for this. It is also the personal responsibility of drivers and passengers to have military registration documents, deferment conditions, etc.”, said Taras Hren, Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

“These services will be provided by Bolt drivers with special permits, ensuring strict adherence to local regulations and the priority of public safety. Therefore, it is important to note that we urge everyone to use ride-hailing services during the curfew only when absolutely necessary,” says Anton Gurin, Senior Operations Manager of Bolt ride-hailing service in Ukraine.

“It is important that both the local authorities and the Lviv IT Cluster business association understand the value of meeting the mobility and logistics needs of different groups of residents of the city and region, especially those in critical industries or with emergency requests. We are grateful for the trust and aim to ensure the reliable operation of the service and expect that rider users and driver partners will comply with the legal requirements for movement during the curfew,” said Vadym Ishchenko, Uklon’s COO.

As part of the pilot project, only those drivers and users of the Bolt and Uklon information systems who have the necessary passes to legally stay on the streets and in public places during a certain period of the day will be able to fulfil orders during the curfew in Lviv and Lviv region.

Control over the availability of passes will be carried out by the city’s patrols in accordance with the current legislation.
