Recently in the town of Sokal, four memorial plaques were unveiled on the facade of Secondary School No. 4. This honours the Heroes who fell while defending Ukraine.
Volodymyr Lyashuk was a resident of Sokal and died on 2nd November during a combat mission on the Kramatorsk front. He was 29 years old.
Andriy Hnatyuk, also from Sokal, died on 14th October 2025 during a combat mission. He had been participating in the ATO since 2014 and served in the Third Assault Brigade.
Ivan Bashtyk, from the village of Ilkovychi in the Sheptytskyi District, died on 13th August near Rubizhne. He was 27 years old. He served as a mechanic-driver in a self-propelled artillery platoon.
Oleg Shamansky, a resident of Sokal, died on 8th July 2025 on the Pokrovske front. He was a rifleman and assistant grenadier in the 108th Brigade “Da Vinci Wolves”.
